You may be wondering why the name “Quilted Feather?” I have 2 hobbies, Birds and Sewing. At 70 yrs of age and 51 years of marriage I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy them both.
I purchased my first canaries 17 years ago. I still raise and enjoy them. A few years later, after attending a bird-mart I fell in love with Gouldians. Like most, I started with normals and had to work through that learning curve of raising strong healthy Gouldians. Now customers often tell me my birds are larger and healthier looking than others they see. Besides the knowledge I have learned, I give a lot of credit to

We raise Lady Gouldian finches, Star finches, Owl finches and Canaries at this time. Besides all the normal colored gouldians we have several yellows, blues and silvers. These special colors sell fast, so get on the waiting list if you'd like one.
All of our birds are raised by us, not imported. Here in Arizona we raise our birds in outdoor aviaries so they get plenty of sunshine and fly free to develop strong wings. I consider it a blessing and a privilege that I am able to get out of bed each morning, and be the caretaker of these beautiful creatures.
So here we are, my husband and I, enjoying these golden years in Arizona. I care for the birds, and he makes caring for them easier. As you look through this website you will see the many things he has done to make life easier for me and better for the birds.
As for the quilting part, I do that in my spare time. I’ve never said “I’m bored” in my life. My lifelong passion for sewing has turned to quilting. I just love creating new quilts and quilted gifts. There are several
